Okay this may be a little bit of a premature question because the vacuum tester i bought is still in the mail and hasn't arrived yet, but i couldn't help but start to look into what the issue might be with the vacuum system on my '70.

Here are the symptoms:
- Start the car and the wiper door pops up for a second and then goes back down
- Turn the headlights on and the left side pops up, but the right side lags behind a few seconds. Occasionally the right side will get stuck half way, but usually comes up all the way ... it just takes several seconds after the left is up

Since my vacuum tester isn't here yet but i was eager to do something, I did try the "pinch test" i found by searching the forum (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...inch-test.html). When I did this test everything was good for about 15 seconds but then the left headlight popped up (wiper door stayed down as did the right headlight).

So, in summary --- I'm not sure if I'm looking at one issue causing multiple symptoms, or if i might have multiple issues to deal with. I did read corvette101 troubleshooting guide (http://www.corvette-101.com/vacuum.htm) and plan to do some further testing, but like i said i'm waiting for my vacuum tester to arrive. In the meantime I thought i'd ask to see if people had any suggestions as to where I may want to start, what additional tests i might want to consider, or better yet if anyone knows what the problem likely is based on the symptoms i'm seeing.

oh, and PS -- the wiper and headlight override switches both work fine for whatever that's worth.

There is a few clips here that might help you, some probably involve using a vacuum pump so you'd have to wait but it's good to study up I guess. Lots of other posts here also, I found a super good one once but don't have a way to quickly find it but I'll try. Lot's of these systems are similar with other years.
