You need to take the picture so we can see both gears and the marks that are on them to get a real answer...

The problem is, the marks don't line up with the keyways. The circle mark is between two keyways.

Looks right to me, rounded keyway slot to the O indicator mark = neutral timing

the marks dont line up with the key way. Youu need to set the #1 piston at top dead center and line up the marks you want per the directions

I guess I miss-read his question, I thought he meant which keyway to use for neutral timing, since he didn't show the cam gear I guessed he did align the "0" marks between the gears
Still using the rounded keyway for neutral timing, Here's an image
But since he hasn't responded since he asked I'll also guess he's moved on

ok more importantly....so you don't wipe any lobes .....have you used lots of assembly lube and have you read how to break in the cam?
