I have a 1981 Corvette that is missing it’s smog equipment.
Searching everywhere..
I would greatly appreciate any direction for finding all of the smog kit or any parts.
It has to be 1981 specific.
update... finding piece by piece...
Now looking specifically for the egr control valve solenoid and bracket. Manual trans.
ive learned in my search that the automatic trans solenoid is different and won’t work.
so it’s the 1997518 manual trans.
not the 1997536 auto.
(I thought this was supposed to be fun.)
Thanks so much for your attention.

FWIW: if you want to put together a parts list, the 81 AIM shows what you will need, how everything assembles, and lists the original GM part numbers. It's possible much of the system was GM generic and used on other makes and models.

Thank you for reaching out. I hate to sound new or uninformed but what is the ‘aim’? And where can I find it? Thanks again for your help.

Hopefully DUB or someone else has contacted you regarding a “kit.”
Your best bet is to find someone that is removing the whole setup which happens often enough for folks that don’t live in CA or other states that require essentially original equipment.
I like the suggestion above to start with an AIM. You need to figure out what is missing. Essentially, the whole 81 smog system works in concert. There is a computer (located in the compartment behind the drivers seat), a special distributor, a specific carburetor, a smog pump and diverter valve and a set of shorty headers with air injection tubes. The diverter valve also has a tube that runs to the catalytic converter. In addition, there is an oxygen sensor in the drivers side exhaust pipe and a MAP sensor on the firewall.
Hopefully most of these items and the accompanying harnesses are still in place.
