hi guys.....
I am assembling my shifter console and trying to put together a new cigarette lighter assembly but the wire does not seem to go to the bottom of the cigarette lighter assembly please help here are some pics
this does not seem correct am i missing something ??
Your new lighter probably has a bigger stud than old. It looks like you have a circular faston connector. You can either try to expand the metal on your connector or go to an electronics shop with your lighter and buy a connector that fits properly.
There IS a added on provision that threads ONTO the threads of that stud of the cigarette lighter. It extends it down further and will allow you to slide you connector on without having to deform it to TRY to make it work.
I recently had to do one and I actually had to CUT the threaded portion that you show in your photo to shorten it so when I threaded on the brass special connector terminal end...it was at the correct length.
thanks guys ill go to d parts store with the lighter assembly maybe i can buy the part that goes on the bottom or maybe just cut the wire & get a different connector or possibly just a whole new assembly (whatever is easier & cheaper)
thanks again
