1973 Wiper Relay?
Is there a wiper relay on a '73? I see them for sale for 68-72 and some later C3 models, but cannot seem to find any for a '73. On the right inner fender, under the hood, there is a relay that appears it could be it, but was not sure. It has 4 prongs, a 3 prong plug and a 1 prong plug. Some of the wires do run to the wiper motor.
Wipers were working on and off and finally seem to have quit all together. Wiper fuse is fine. Thought maybe it might be the relay, due to the intermittent working before it quit. Car does have A/C and power windows also. I guess it could be the dash switch or the motor as well. Any help/ideas anyone has would e much appreciated.

Seems like you might need to get wiring diagram for your car if you plan on keeping it. Just a suggestion.
NO relay is used on a 1973 for the wipers.
The relay you are referring to is your horn relay.
Search WILCOX' s site in the technical area and he has a procedure to bench test the wipers so you can find the problem if you plan on doing this yourself. I can type it out but what he has written up saves me the time to do that.

There is NO relay for the wiper motor system in 73-76. The dash switch is wired directly to the wiper motor & pump.

Thanks, Richard. I did some more searching and found the diagram and some bench test videos on Willcox. It specifically does say no relay 73-76. Looks like I have some work to do on figuring this out. From all that I have read, better start with the grounding. Thanks again!
