Default EFI Sniper

Put 175 miles and vette today and man it runs great. First 70 mile in stop and go traffic in city and I checked mpg and it got 17.8 and still in learn mode so hope it get even better.
Before I could not lock tourqe converter up unless I was doing at least 70 or it would buck a little bit, but with the Holley Sniper system it can lock up as soon as 45 and it is smooth as butter. What a difference so impressed. I used the factory fuel line 3/8 and 5/16 return line and no issues at all works perfect. Best money I've spent for any upgrade.
If anyone is on the edge of pulling the trigger on the sniperits a great investment if you are going to be driving it! If it's just a once or twice a year car just keep your money and quadra jet.

Damn I'm in Europe and it will cost me 30% more but I'm still leaning toward the Sniper EFI!

it's the best upgrade choice I've made for the vette. I'm very pleased so far and it's just getting better and better the more I drive it. Great start up, great throttle response, great idel with this 512 lift cam and no overwhelming fuel smell like*the quadra jet had.

I want. But, my Holley is dialed in perfect. No doubt gas mileage would improve.

In the "old days" when those sock type filters would get plugged in lieu of pulling the tank we would just blow them off the end of the pipe with an air nozzle and then add a inline filter.

Where did you put your coolant sensor? There is no space for it on the intake because the extra hole is under the top radiator hose!

I have Edelbrock Performer manifold so mine are in the cavity next to the thermostat housing.
Can you get a different radiator hose? may be get a kit and build yourself one?

From the Holley EFI manual:
"The Sniper EFI System comes with a built in fuel pressure regulator, factory set at 58.5psi. We recommend at least a 3/8” feed line and 3/8” return line"

Since Holley recommends a 60psi @ 50gph fuel pump for the Sniper then you will probably be right on the edge of overworking your fuel pump when your engine is at idle.

When I talked to Holley they recommended 3/8" each way.

Doesn't the return line end at the top of the tank? Doesn't that represent a problem because of the fuel splashing when returning in the tank?

The return at the top isn't a problem. The lack of anti-slosh plates in the factory tank is. Whenever the fuel level is low it sucks air in tight turns. I lived with it for a while and then spent the $$$ on a custom tank with slosh plates and in-tank pump.

In the 77-81 fuel tank the return line goes to the sending unit at the top of the tank. I think those pics are from an earlier tank.
