78 front clip installation
Hello -
We are doing the final fitment before installing an aftermarket front clip on a 78. I have posted about this project before. Things were finally coming together until we installed the hood. It is sitting too high all the way around. I have the nose as high as it will go with respect to the "support" rod. I have read everything that I can including 2 Volumes of the Glass-Ra series and the Ecklers body repair book. Any help would be greatly appreciated as usual. Thanks

The car was hit in the nose when I bought it. It went to a frame shop before we started the front clip install. Many years ago.
The core support is not rotted.
The driver's side skirt is new. The passenger side is original
All of the hardware is on the hood
We have constantly struggled with the 43" distance between the rear hood hinge and the firewall drop edge. The fan would constantly hit the shroud despite all adjustments. Finally we went with electric fans.
With the core support at 43". the striker on the hood on the driver's side is 1" short of the latch. I am wondering if the hood hinges are tweaked.
With the block holding the core support at 43" removed, the hood latch and striker line up but there is a big (1/2") gap between the front of the hood and the body.
I can get the front clip aligned well at the doors and along the rocker panels. But the hood alignment is fubar.
I can easily move the strikers.
I have adjusted the frame horns and the radiator support
