Thanks, Peterbuilt for the GM site I was able to download info for my 1975 Vette , was wonder what stall was in the car. I had removed the mild L48 with 202 HP to the rear wheels and install a 383 with 436 HP and 456 TQ and they stated that I needed a 2000-2400 stall. So I'm ok since GM states it 2110

Thanks again Peterbilt. I just download mine for my 78 L82 and the stall speed listed was 2110. I was surprised that it was 2110 in both the L48 & L82 models.
The Camaro with the same engine. Had lower stall speed I believe. I have anFTI 2800 Stahl 9 * convertor it doesn't slip much but the lighter weight let's it rev up nicely.
Fwiw if some are worried about slippage or a converter being too big a 2400 feels bone stock, 2800 hardly noticeable, 3000 starting to get fun.
If you have a rumpity cam, dont be shy about one, that will let your cam work the way its supposed to. With too small a converter it may try and drag the idle down and feel "doggy" down low.
I agree, FTI made mine and I asked them to keep it a little less slipped and it's really nice..if you have a stock car I'd make a convertor one of the first modifications. You can put headers and exhast and tuning mods and even a mild cam and a convertor will give you a noticeable difference.
