Hello it's Crap again.Does anybody know how to replace the fuel lines on a 1975 stingray corvette? Do you have to drop the gas tank to be able to get to the fuel lines? Thanks
If you are referring to the fuel hoses at your fuel tank.
YES...the fuel tank needs to be lowered so you can reach in and get to the hoses attached to the top of your fuel tank where they connect to the fuel sending unit. This can be done through the fuel door opening. This can be done but it can be challenging.
The hoses will be a 3/8" I.D.hose for the fuel supply and a 1/4" I.D. for the fuel return.
Take a look at and also check your vapor line on the driver side also. There is a hose that attaches to the tank for this line.
I can say that checking that the vapor line to make sure good and will allow air to flow through it is wise. On so many Corvettes I work on this line is plugged up or has split and not functional and can cause for issues in the fuel tank due to pressure...or due to it being split...allows fuel vapors to come out an allow a person to smell gas around their car after they drive it.
You can buy fuel hose in any length at your local parts store, but be sure you buy fuel hose. Regular rubber hose will dteriorate very quickly with fuel in it.
