Default 1970 vette engine

Over the years I have had 18 vett's from 57 to 71....I just purchased my 19th one and have a question...This is the first one I have owned in 30 years....Back when I had them we didn't care much what motor they had because we blew them up....I know about the serial pad and such but this engine has a serial pad that is square...Can anyone help me what engine this might be.....Thank you

look up the engine block number from the back of the block, also the date - it may give you additional information/

1970 = 3927186, 3927187, 3973414
454=3964291, LS7=3964291

Later 1970’s and 80’s used the shorter pad like that.

The stamp pad shape changed in mid 1977 so that is a newer block than 1970.
