Want to cleanup starter wires, fire waiting to happen!! Apparently previous owner did a butcher job, see pics. Looking for suggestions and pics as to what it should look like. There are multiple wires and I highlighted with arrows, wires that have a black resistor of some sort? But it looks like there are a couple on the same wire. Any help, pic's and guidance would be appreciated for an '82 Vette. Thanks
Those black "resistor things" are fusible links and are supposed to be there and will help in preventing a fire. I was under my 81 today and see two on my wiring which matches the diagram in the shop manual. I'm not sure if there are supposed to be three on an 82.
