Default Radiator position change

Radiator position change - iam thinking about getting a shorter in height and maybe fatter, more depth and swinging the position forwards, to improve airflow and give me some room for turbos's etc, has anyone else done this change in radiator position? and what sixe did they use etc, is any reason why you cant lay a radiator flater etc?

how is the airflow going to go through the radiator if the fins are pointing in more of an upward direction?

I think he means getting the rad upright, instead of leaning back the way it does. Which would help airflow thru rad. Problem is, he would have to pull the bottom back, not front forward. Unless he just pulls pins and throws the hood in the bushes. Won't have any room to open.

throwing it forwards at the top and leaving the bottom in same position , so it would be 45 degrees forwards, all my impact stuff is gone, so got space to go right forwards, which would allow bonnet to still work

How you re-engineer your car is up to you, but C3 radiators, by design, are meant to lean toward the engine. For the changes you want to make, a C2 radiator might serve your purpose. Fitting one in a C3 will be part of your redesign.

works great till you try to open the hood, rad is angled for a reason, triple check you clearance to the front of the hood.

I suppose you could with a shorter and narrower radiator to keep upper locating point the same and move the lower end of the radiator in the aft direction. Here is a picture of my 68 with a Mark VIII fan.... there is quite a bit of room there. I don't think it would be worth the hassle when you could just squish in the biggest most efficient radiator you can find in the stock location
