Default Dewitts HP Radiator Fit

Greeting all and happy Friday to all. Need to see if I can get a question answered.

I'm upgrading my 1973 350 automatic from stock radiator to Dewitts HP. The original L-48 was replaced with a GM HO 350 crate long block.

Car was also originally non A/C, but that was remedied with a Vintage Air install. Using the OEM 7 blade fan spec'd for a 73 with factory A/C.

Question is: will the HP version of the Dewitts radiator fit my stock radiator supports without modifications? I do plan to inspect the support once the radiator is out. But if all looks good, I want to know if this would still be a drop in plug and play or if the HP makes things different as far as fit.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks

I’m pretty sure the radiator is either 26” (no ac) or 27” (ac). The radiator support will determine which radiator to use.

Thanks Bob. That's what I'm trying to confirm for thec1973 year. It looks like there is only one model for the 1973 support. Websites list All when they reference that year. Some other years show differences for with A/C and without.

I have a call into Dewitts directly, but no reply just yet.

Yes Sir! I saw that at Zip and at the premium price for a quality piece, every little bit helps.

But I need to factor in the support cost should it be required to modify or replace if fitment is an issue.

As mentioned, there was only one core support for 73-75, and that's for a 27.5" core. If you go with the DeWitt model it will have the factory type GM hat channels. There is also a custom channel matching cushion for the perfectionist.

CUSTOM CUSHION

Thanks Tom,

So that I'm crystal clear. The standard and the HP radiators from Dewitts for the 1973 Corvette 350 automatic will both fit the stock radiator support without modifications. And fit better with the custom cushions offered :-)

Thanks for chiming in.

Okay Tom,

Based on your input I was able to look of the core size and both radiators appear to fit the 1973 27.5

Yep, the Pro-series and HP are dimensionally identical. Just the core thickness changes
