Connector close to starter
Don´t know why it didn´t work posting. Found this connector when replacing the starter and spark plug wires. Black and blue. Can´t find anywhere to connect it to. Goes up in the plastic tubing that holds the red and Purple wires to the starter. Connects to a larger connector close to the distributor. Can´t seem to locate it in my wiring diagram. Can´t recall pulling it off when I started the job. Bubba?

That goes to the auxiliary electric fan switch kinda between the rear most 2 spark plugs on the passenger side.
If you don't have L82/AC it just hangs out of the way.
I ask because my 78 does not have one and I wonder if this fan is there to cool off the starter?
those of us with 78's have issues with the starter getting hot, actually solenoid, and then not cranking. Was this fan Chevy fix for 79?
Oops. After rereading Kapp's post I see he refers to a switch between the plugs. You guys with 79's don't have the starter issue do you?.

Get the 2 bolts for it too. Got mine from orielly auto. No more heat soak problem.
The 79 L82 /AC has an electric fan in the shroud to assist the clutch fan. But it usually didn’t come on until about 235*. Chev also added a front spoiler extension to assist cooling at highway speeds. All attempts to cool down a hot car.
