Wiper door opens on startup....?

Wiper door opens on startup....?
It stays open till the engine is shut back down. I have searched and read through many post but most have different symptoms. Where should I start trying to diagnose this issue....? It's a 72.

Since it opens on start and stays open until after shutdown do you have the two vacuum lines from the relay to the actuator reversed or is the override under the steering column pulled down?

Override switch is not pulled down and I haven't changed anything.....Wiper door worked as it should on the way to the car show but did this little trick on the way home.....I guess someone could have accidentally pulled a vacuum line loose while at the show. But I didn't see anyone messing with stuff under the hood.

Seems like a vacuum leak is usually the culprit here, as when the vacuum fails the default is open. If you turn the wiper switch on do they work? And when you then shut them off, the door remains open?

Well I feel dumb but at least there is nothing wrong....The wiper switch had gotten knocked to the run position (hince the door opened on start -up) and I had them turned off with the override ****. They work as designed, I fixed them a couple years ago but have not used them since, good to know they still work.
