I saw this thread but did not want to be.....presumptuous and assume that he would actually want to come by and see me. Sometimes people will go where they want to. I did not want to come across as 'soliciting' for business also by replying before he made an attempt to contact me. I believe he (Mark) stopped by today with a beautiful 1980. and we talked.
Thanks to all of you who gave him your opinion on who to take it to. It does mean a lot.
Ive been rear ended and jaded by pos wanna be techs but i do fully believe dub would do a wonderful job,
Yep, if i were bucks up ( not saying dub is expensive ) im just skinny on $$$,
I would send my car to him with a list then leave him the hell alone to fix it, a forum thread on it would be sweet.
...i would just have to keep my nose out of it until it was done.....if i got on the phone with him the way we talk he would never get anything done..
Getting a great deal- then having to have it "done right" the second time -your are bucks up on paying for quality craftsmanship the first time.
Dub falls into the "craftsman" category.
The cheapest usually ends up being the most expensive....

I believe i see what you are getting at but in both my bad cases its not as easy as packing it up in a little cliche of just because someone gets a good price on something or from a buddy its automatically a rip off, con job, rear ending, paying top dollar doesnt always ensure the best outcome.
We hope we get what we believe we are paying for but that isnt always the case.
Ive had guys on here cut me insane deals on great parts and ive seen guys try to get top dollar for junk that looks like it was on a lake bottom and both sellers will have members who think they are gold.
Ive seen bucks up guys drop tall dollars at known name shops and get hosed badly, and some get great work at killer prices,, no human or shop is 100% flawless some are just better at being human and picking up dropped ***** than others.
Some shops/people are just out to stick it to others, amount paid has zero bearing.
Great examples posted in transaction section of the forum.
