77 early vette dome light help

77 early vette dome light help
hi guys ....
i just bought a rear harness & im about to buy a dome light plate and lens from one of the vendors but its says socket less ??? i have read on other threads that the dome light takes a "festoon type bulb" (I will be getting led bulb festoon type) i have two questions
1st.. there are two clip type terminals on harness wires is that the "socket" for the bulb that snaps on the plate??
2nd.. where is the switch located for the dome light to turn on and off or do i have to rig some sort of switch. i belive there is no timer cause i did the dash & did not see it
p.s maybe i can rig some type of battery type led light but it might look cheesy

The two clips in the harness are for the dome light (should be orange and white wires if they follow OEM colors). The dome light uses one of those tube-style bulbs with metal caps on the ends. The caps snap into the clips.

Festoon lamps look a lot like glass cartridge fuses. if the contacts you're talking about will hold such, they're the right ones and they do "snap" into the fixture.
Switches are in the door jambs and at the headlamp switch **** (twist left/ccw past the detent). Load is on the 20A ACCY fuse that is commonly removed due to a battery rundown condition.. The lamp in the "T" comes on with ones in each footwell.

when i bought the car it had all sorts of jerry rigged wires & the dome light was nonexistent. That being said when I open the door does the dome suppose to come on with the courtesy lights or does the dome light just work with the **** on the dash ??
