Original exterior paint color and original interior color can usually be identified from 'hidden' areas that are not normally repainted (under sill plates, behind door panels, under carpeting, etc.). The only info on the trim tag is the exterior color, the interior color and the build date.
Have you looked for the tank sticker? It may be gone or unreadable, but there was a sticker applied to the top of your gas tank that would have all the information you want. Search the forum for the best way to confirm its presence (borescope) and retrieve it (drop the tank).
I don't know if 1966 had a tank sticker, though.

You will need original documentation with the car. 66s did not have tank stickers. Vehicle information tags should be on the support bar under the glove box. You might want to post in C2 for additional information.
