Default steering box lock ringq

1975 power steering. Trying to get the steering box apart to rebuild it. The lock ring will not move. I've tried channel lock pliers and tapping with a punch and hammer. No luck. I found a lock ring on ebay but it says for non power steering. Is the steering box the same for power or non power?

I was doing good and now a real screw up. I saw that there were two bushings in the rebuild kit. The gutted steering box was soaking in the degreaser and I inadvertently cut the bushing out of the cover. I didn't look until it was too late that the bushings in the kit are much taller than the cover bushing. I did a search on the internet and I don't see this bushing sold anywhere. The kits that I see listed only have the two shaft bushings, not the cover bushing.

PM GTR1999 on this site. If anyone has it, he does, or knows how to make it.

I got the bushing pressed in today. I had to make two tools to install the bushings in the box and also the cover. In speaking to Gary he made a bushing install tool that has a step in it so that the inside diameter is supported while pressing on the outside diameter at the same time. I don't have access to a lathe to make the tool so I used a 13/16" socket for the inside diameter and as luck would have it I had some fender washers that fit the bore of the steering box perfectly. The deep socket needed to be tightened up a little so I wrapped it with one wrap of blue tape and it was nice and snug I used a 1/4-20 bolt with several washers to tie it all together. For the bushing in the cover the deep socket that I have was too long so I cut down a bolt removal socket that I had bought from Harbor Freight to fit the shorter bushing and used the same fender washers bolted to it. The shorter tool didn't need anything to tighten it up. It fit inside of the bushing perfectly The bushings went in nice and smooth on my press.
