I would like to install new brake lines on my 73. do the brake line kits fit good and how hard to install?
Thanks Bob
The brake lines almost always fit but sometimes you'll need to do some tweaking. When you receive them the long line is bent in a U and you'll have to straighten it out before you install but if you take your time that's not hard to do at all.
You can install the brake lines without pulling the body up off the frame you just have to snake the side on in place and hopefully you have a lift, it makes it easier. Fuel lines... that's a different story... You have to pull the right side of the body up about 1.5' to get the clearance needed to get the line in the proper place.
Catch the sale on Friday and you'll save quite a bit off the line kits.
I’m in the process. I have the motor out which made the front lines easy. Wish I could say the same for the front to rear. Giving me fits. PITA to get it over the rear frame and into the new left rear brake block. I’ve got it screwed in and the nut is tight but the line doesn’t seem to want to seat and is leaking. I was worried about kinking it too. I thought I may have cracked the line under the nut so I pulled it out and bought another front to rear. Having the same problem with the new line so I bought a new block that I’m currenty waiting for. (Becoming an expensive fix). If this doesn’t work I’m going to try NICOP and make my own line. In short I wish I left the front to rear alone. Motor is ready to go back in but brake is holding me up now
