6,5" kick panel speakers
Hi all
After a long search I have found what I´m looking for, speaker vise but I still need to find out what is the maximum mounting depth of a speaker in the kick panel. I want to keep the original look and therefor hide the speaker behind the kick panel. The speaker I´m looking into is following, but I´m little skeptic about the mounting depth as this speaker has the mounting depth of 59 mm or 2,16". Does any of you specialists know what would be the maximum mounting depth? Is there anything that I´m missing?
As I´m ordering those speakers to Iceland, it is almost impossible to return due to shipping cost and therefor I have one change to do this right.

I have these mounted behind my kick panels.

The mounting depth is 1-15/16" and they fit no problem. The maximum mounting depth isn't much more than this but you can take a tape measure and measure the depth. I also have a pair of 6-1/2" Focals but they needed some trimming of the speaker frame. Just something to be aware of. Also, you could use a speaker spacer, a 1/4" or so, and still be able to mount a speaker behind the kick panel.

Thank you resdoggie for this. The problem is that the car is an hour away and I was trying to save my self the ride, order first and go and install when everything arrives :-) Do you run a tweeter in the dash and a sub in the back or what kind of setup do you have?
