Headlight bulb cup ID?
Still trying to put my basket case together. I have 3 of the 4 headlight cups and retainers. There are 4 different part numbers for these, how can I tell which one goes where? The mountings are the same for all, but the indents that position the sealed beams are all a little different. This is driving me nuts, because I don't know which one I am missing. :crazy:

Big Fish, I looked through the assembly manual for our 75's. It says that the outer (low beam) left hand is Part #5963839, outer right hand is #5963840. Inner left hand (high beam) is #5963838 and inner right is # 5963837
If i remember correctly, when I got my car painted ( I took most of the car apart and put it back together afterwards), I had a little problem also putting the cups back together correctly. Three of them went right back together correctly, but the passenger high beam bulb didn't line up no matter what direction I turned it. I had to "modify" it (read as "bubba'd it) slightly to make it work.

Sounds like I'm heading for the same problem. This car was involved in a wreck at some time and was never completely re-assembled afterwards. I know that both headlight assemblys were replaced, not even sure the 3 cups I have are correct. Maybe I can figure it out by getting new sealed beams and checking for fit? I wish GM had stamped part numbers on these. Probably were just tagged which is long gone. :crazy: :crazy: :crazy:
