Trying to work out from your close up just what area is it .
Maybe others can figure it out , I see two nuts from the wiper door attachment? Or the wiper arm mount area?
Anyway a good clean up with some fresh sealer/ glue spread nicely would be close to top of my list.
The view is looking straight down where the window wipers are between the cage and the firewall. This join goes partially under the middle of the windshield
well in that case you need to remove the entire front clip and separate the body from the chassis to do this repair properly !........
or do something like I would do , try and clean up or out as much of the old dried out original sealer from as much of the area that needs it and put some fresh sealer in that gap .
you could go big and remove the wiper door and do the whole plenum area , even go as far as remove the screen for access.
access might be hard to get a caulking gun in from underneath so adding sealer (plenty of it) from the top might be the only way anyway.
he is referring to the white gap, which looks minor.
If that is the only damage I would seal it up and not worry.
however i bet you anything if you remove your windshield you will find further damage.
how bad, will determine if you need to remove the front clip.
This is the ultimate correct fix, remove firewall and repair then reattach firewall, and then front clip.
A thought. Find a few spots you can get screws to pull gap together. Then spread the gap as wide as possible, without damaging it, and squirt the seam sealer in then let it close and screw it shut.
DorianC3: You found a serous leak! Keep it simple if possible. I had the same situation. YOU will have to evaluate how bad it is then determine if it is necessary to handle it a major project now (or latter) or handle it as a minor repair now. Mine just required removal of the old weak sealer then resealed.
