Tachometer on my 76 gets power but doesn't read, does this mean that the computer on the tach needs to be replaced? Little bit of a dumb question but I just want to make sure before I spend money on a new part and take apart my dash.

A common problem and one that deserves to be understood before proceeding with tearing your dash apart. It is estimated that 90% of the time, it is the tach board. When I looked at these in the past, you want those assembled in the old USA, otherwise you'll pick up one made in China with less than quality parts and may have to go thru this again. I'll attach an article written several years ago but remains relevant today. Also, Wilcox (forum supporter) posts some excellent information about how to tear into your dash and, sells the tach board for I believe $58.00. Your Tach says a lot...make sure its right!
well I put a few pics on here of a tach I have that was in a 76 great shape ,to many ,so I deleted them ,if you want I can throw them back on ,anyway you can have the whole tach for $75 if that will work for you ,by the way did you install the power window motor yet? thanks Bill

Thanks Tom... I finally got Zip to carry our boards too...
If I were the OP, I'd bypass the filter first and see if anything changes.... the info is on the tech site on how to do this. The filters were being imported by MA, but I guess they didn't pay these guys either because they are on eternal backorder. I'm looking into making the filter next... and it, like the tach boards would be made in the USA.... I'm just not sure I can come up with the correct style metal can to house the filter..
