Water pump

Water pump
I was wondering if a long water pump would fit in my 68? It was originally a 427 in it, now it is a 350 in it. So my question is: would it fit a 383 with a long water pump. Thanks in advance

383 and 350 are the same engine. The difference is the stroke. Well couple thousands of bore also. But the same water pump the same pulleys. You change type of water pump you got to completely replace all of the pulleys and all of the brackets to go with the new location for the water pump pulleys and you need the crankshaft pulleys also. Best bet is use the setup currently on the 350.

measure the hole in your pump pulley wheel. The center is 5/8 or 3/4. That way you buy the correct one. and it should be clockwise
heres a bunch at summit. on the left you will see the shaft diameter option

I assume you are buying a 383 for your car? Does it need a water pump? If not, just paint and install all the brackets pullrys and pump that are currently on the 350. You can measure all the details while you got it apart, but you're spending enough already.although the pump itself once you're sure which one you need is not terribly pricey.
