You need an oil priming tool. Proform makes a decent one. The attach to a drill and it takes the place of the distributor. You run the drill a few minutes. And verify you have oil pressure.
If you have an old distributor around you can make a tool or just find your local junk yard and I bet they'd give you one. That's what I did. Works great.
I think Moroso also has the primer. They run around $20 or less at Summit Racing. Just make sure it has the upper collar on the shaft to contain the oil pressure as you spin the pump. It takes a hefty electric drill to move that oil too.
After several minutes of priming, rotate the crank 90* and prime again. Rotate 90*, prime again. Repeat until you have gone at least 360*. This will insure that all the lifter oil passages are full. A seepage of oil at each and every rockerarm means you are ready to fire it up.
