Q-jet is leaking ... AGAIN
2 weeks ago...I found fuel leaking at the top of the carb,between the top plate and the main body gasket. I had it rebuilt and it's leaking again I brought it back to the shop and I found the problem, the top plate is warped side to side and front to back ~.040", what suggestions do you guys have? I'm leaning towards a new carb and intake, but would like to bolt on and go.If this was your problem how would you handle it.

Hmm, I just started a post about my air horn "swelling". If I wouldn't have seen it with my own eyes, I'd say that the warping would have to be due to over-torquing the air horn bolts, but now I'm not too sure.

overtorqued bolts I can understand created the problem and replacement is necessary, what should I replace the carb w/ or can I buy the just top plate :confused:

An Edelbrock QJet 1903 will bolt right on there. Plug 'n play.
And if you want to save a few bucks, get an "almost new" Edelbrock remanufactured unit from Summit. Definitely not junk.
