Finally pulled the trigger...17x8 with 4" Backspacing on the fronts running Nitto 555 255/50ZR17 and 18x9.5 with 5" backspacing on the rear running Nitto 555 285/40ZR18's. I ended up putting on 1/4" spacers on the rear to clear the e-brake cable. I needed to remove the e-brake brackets as well. They will be relocated to the top of the Trailing Arm, and at that point, I will probably be able to get away with no spacers.
I like those rims! Nice that you got 285's in the rear too....I think you probs need to cut 1/2 coil off the front to get body down lower to the tire and to achieve a more aggresive modern stance...

Cutting the actual coil is not bad, it is the rest that is a pain....
You have to remove the shock, separate the lower ball joint from the lower control arm, carefuly remove the spring that is under pressure with a floor jack, taking precautions for your safety, AND remove the correct amount from the spring to achieve what you want. Also depends on the spring that is in there now: Is it OEM Stock replacement, aftermarket shorter, etc. I cut 1/2 coil from an aftermarket midamerica spring that is 1 inch shorter than stock BUT I have aluminum AFR heads that are MUCH lighter than stock heads, aluminum radiator, aluminum water pump, aluminum L-82 intake, etc. Lots to calculate and figure besides the actual cut.......
