Can someone tell me how to adjust my headlights so that they line up nice with the body when down. One seems to be a little tilted (lower on one side) and off center a little.
Along the same lines...is there any easy way to align the hood itself other than trial and error. I want the gaps to be nice and centered and this seem hard to get right even with a helper. Any suggestions?
I've not had issues with the headlights. But I think a lot of it has to do with the rubber bushings that locate them. This is a guess.
As far as the hood goes, make sure your springs are still good. I recently removed my hood. But before I did, I made some locating marks at the hood, where the hinges attach. When I put the hood back on, it was pretty out of whack, despite my marks. So I loosened them, one side at a time, and I moved a little here and there. Now, the hood alignment is better than it's ever been.
So to answer your question, the best way I know, is to play with it.
Those headlights are not fun .There are six different adjustments per side and alot of the times the bushings go bad.To check this raise your headlights and see if they feel lose in the upright position. As far as the hood goes ,get some help and try either adjusting the hinge-to-hood bolts or the hinge-to-body bolts. :seeya :yesnod:
Yeah, to raise the back you have to open the hood, reach in and loosen the bearings at each side to adjust. If I remember correctly the inners are accessible from underneath or through the grills. Not fun.
