Default Converting point type to magnetic pulse distributor

Sometime during the early 1980's, I picked up a magnetic pulse distributor (1111095) , a coil (1115207) , an amplifier (1115005) along with a wiring harness from a swap meet in Englishtown, NJ. This distributor does not have a vacuum advance or a tach drive gear. My research shows it to be an off the shelf item offered by Chevy. Most likely for racing engines.
I would like to use the magnetic pulse distributor in my 70 Vette.
My question, can I take the main body of a point type distributor and add the guts from my magnetic pulse distributor so that I would have the vacuum advance and tach drive capability?

I believe the #095 is a ball bearing race distributor so the short answer is no, the long answer is with some added parts and some work you might make it work.

If you want to keep YOUR tach-drive GM Delco points dist ... suggest convert it to HEI via Lectric Limited Breakerless SE ... only one wire like points.

Easiest is buying a tach drive HEI distributor. Doesn't look original, but...

That's the cheapest way.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
I'll research the add on HEI units. I want to keep the original look.
I may just sell the magnetic pulse system.

Sell it and buy a stock TI unit. About an even swap or less.

another vote for "Lectric Limited Breakerless SE", looks stock from the outside, with only the 1 wire connected.

ran it for a couple of years, but i have since gone back to points after Lars rebuilt my dissy.

True both work well. In my youth I drove all over the universe with points...

Should keep and extra set of either in the "glove" box....

If you keep the TI, make sure you have a GM TI coil. The aftermarket ones seem to be problematic.

You could just convert it back to a points distributor and wire in a Ford TFI module.

Ford Thick Film Ignition? Those were horrible.

My Lincoln ate them like potato chips.

The coil I have is the original part number that came with the TI system. The amplifier is the first version.

I've had pretty good luck with them on 70s motorcycles, they need to be heat sinked.

Power wise....you gain nothing. But three things....
1) Mag triggers do not close physically like points so you can leave the key on without issue.
2) My experience is the mag trigger starts faster....not 100% sure why.
3) Mag trigger does not wear out.....no adjustment needed.

A good TI distributor works well into the 9000+ rpm range.
