Need have an inner spring to keep the hose from collapsing, as that's the suck hose for the pump.....and so I just used a typical spiral looking hose that looks like the hose is wrapped around the inner spring, along with a brass/chrome pipe from kitchen/bath sink plumbing to join with an elbow next to the radiator....
What lower radiator hose did you use with the GM serpentine set up on your C3?
For the upper hose with a serpentine setup I used one from a 1995 Ford Bronco. Now the upper factory 1995 Ford bronco hose has 1 extra elbow bend at the radiator side that needs to be cut off to fit as in the picture below.
Here's what I've been using, but going with a new aluminum radiator. I will re-use the top hose set up and probably go with the stainless hose for the bottom also. I was hoping someone had found a reverse rotation water pump with a hose connection like the C3 water pump so the original style lower hose would fit.
That Bronco hose looks good except it wont work with the 75 upper radiator neck that curves to the right instead of straight back like the 77 and later.
For the lower hose, I just modified the stock one, I shortened the end facing the water pump (I don't recall how much I cut off).
It is tight, but works and have had no problems with it.
