1981 Diff Carrier Bushing
In the process of restoring the back end suspension, trailing arms, diff carrier assembly, pretty much everything...
I could use some clarity concerning the FRONT DIFF BUSHING install.... (81 has the all aluminum Diff)
I cannot find any NOS replacement FRONT Bushing set, only the current replacement which has a larger size
sleeve that compresses and comes down into the larger rubber disk...
Does anyone know if you absolutely have to drill out or maybe die-grind out a larger hole
in the 3/8" thick aluminum carrier tongue to accommodate the larger sleeve that comes
down from the top rubber bushing???
Torque specs show 65 LBS but I wasn't getting anywhere near that until the sleeve hit and bottomed on the carrier.
