Well, after 2 years of restore it is time to install the trim piece on the wiper door cover, of course could not find the 5 clips that hold it on, so bought new,
the clips are very hard to even get on the door before I slip on the long thin trim that sits on the windshield, any tips? or do I just hammer them on, these are from
corvette ameriica, believe me now I wish I had never taken the darn thing off. Thanks. Mike.
I remember trying to put them on my 1969; they're a bitch. I pried them open slightly with a flat head screwdriver and was able to get them on (broke one prying it open). There has to be some type of tool or special trick to getting them on.
Well you don't want to hammer them on, you'll dent the molding. Open the clips up slightly and apply a tiny amount of lube to the molding, you should be able to slip them in. You want to use the butt of your hand and gently tap the molding in place.
