77 smog pulley

Default 77 smog pulley
Hey everyone

I have a 77 without the smog pump (I deleted it about a year ago). I took off all the pulleys for cleaning, painting etc.
Does the Smog pulley need to be in place for the whole pulley system to work properly?
Can I just leave it off or do I have to use a spacer instead?

If the remaining belts are not at an angle due to removal of the pulley there is no need for it.
