Got the balancer on and car back together, runs pretty good, still think the carb. needs adjusting. Now for a new problem, went to pull the car out of the garage to bleed the pass. front side caliper. It gets air. I do it about every six months. I know they need replacing but have put that on the back burner. The big problem is when i took off the master cylinder lid the front and back bowls were empty. That just made my day. I was looking forward to bleed the front and take it for a drive. Spent the whole day of trying to get air out. I know when i rebuilt the master cylinder about a year and half ago i bench bleed it before installing it. i guess now I need to replace calipers first. The front right had fluid on the inside of the tire. The thing that got me was the rear bowl empty, but no fluid anywhere on the rear calipers. No fluid anywhere on the hoses or tires. It did no good to try to get the air out of the front it just leaked out as I was working on the back. Just love fix one thing and another pops up, I know before anyone says anything, old cars are just that way, I know that. Just one thing do they have a fitting that you can put on the brake line to stop fluid from running out as you take off the caliper. I would like to pull the calipers and take them when I pick up the new ones, so I do not have to pay the core charge. I know you get it back, but is less money up front. Sorry for the long post.

If it's not NEEDED as your everyday transport, perhaps you could just park it until you're saved enough for all the brake parts & pieces needed?
Old brake hoses NEED replacing too; even if they don't look bad.

I hear ya on the capping off the hose while repair is needed. What a mess on the floor. I know over the years people have put vise-grips on the hose. What a great way to destroy the inner workings of a brake hose. Has to be a better way.

Because your MC was allowed to go bone dry, you have two choices to get all the air out of the chambers. Pressure Bleeder or remove the unit a bench bleed again.

Somebody needs to print and sell T-shirts that say:
I Survived a
C3 Brake Job.

You can get a piece of hose and slide it over the end of the brake line, the just crimp that piece of hose shut. Some one here will post the thread diamter and pitch and you could go find a brass cap at an auto parts store or big box store as well. I just dont know the pitch
