Positive Battery Cable

I am install a new transmission tunnel insulation. I am also replacing the positive battery cable that passes through the same area. My car did not have the insulation in-place. So the question is, does the battery cable pass between the car body and the tunnel insulation or do I install the insulation first and run the cable between the insulation and transmission .

With the cable clamped down you do want to make sure you have enough length to the starter. Won't be easy if you are clamped and the wire is to short.

Thank you for your response. Pictures help a lot. However to raised another question. I bought tunnel insulation. It is a formed piece that fits up in the tunnel. I see yours is more like a blanket that also covers the footwell and behind the heat shield. Do I have the wrong piece or are both used.

I don't think so. The tunnel is a preformed piece. The other 2 panels are for the underneath and fire wall. I used silver tape for the seams so it may be harder to notice.
