Front wheel stud replacement
Yesterday I began to replace the wheel studs. After drilling off the heads of the rivits that hold in the rotor, I had read online that the rotor sould not be removed. Is there another way I can replace the front wheel studs? And did drilling off the heads damage anything or will it cause problems in the future? Thank you.

The only issue with removing the rotor is that you may alter the alignment with the hub and increase runout. This can add air into your braking system. Just put a mark on the rotor and the hub and proceed.
Rotors are removed and replaced because of wear all the time. Don’t sweat it.

If you remove the router and hub assembly as a unit, you should not have to drill out the rivets. While they are off the car I would pull both wheel bearings, clean off all the old grease and apply new grease. You will also need to replace the grease seal.

The 'run out' issue has been beaten to death here. Many swear it is of paramount importance, others say 'meh, dont stress it'. Honestly, if you dont have the tools or the know how, just finish up your wheel studs and drive it. I spent a few nights on the issue, made shims out of beer cans, and honestly it really wasn't worth the fuss.
