Replaced my flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing and clutch fork as part of my restoration of my 71 LT1. When I got the car assembled and was ready to start it up, the clutch went all the way to the floor and did not return. After much work I was able to adjust the clutch so that it would engage and disengage, but it is adjusted all the way at the end of the clutch rod, as if it where practically a worn out clutch! I also had to shim the starter because it was grinding so bad! All new parts where purchased from Paragon. Spoke to them about the issue and they said they never had a problem with these parts! Any suggestions to improve the clutch adjustment or starter grind issue? I would also be interested in suggestions on where to get a replacement clutch flywheel etc. that meets the original specs. Thanks
Read Lars thread on clutch engagement with different aftermarket clutches.
His article shows the McCleod to be one that does not have the issue....that is what I run and it is a great clutch with light pedal engagement.
Where is your original flywheel? Have it resurfaced.
If it is gone...Pioneer makes a quality unit.
