Hi. You might want to try the Willcox Corvette website. Go to the Tech and Install pages. They have a video about installing T top weather strip.. Good luck.
Any ideas put new ttop weatherstripping on n tops don't want to sit on roof properly any ideas
What year is the car.... and hopefully you didn't buy the imported crap...
Or the other types made in what I'll say is... oh... no other word.. Crap.. There are two other varieties made in the states that are not made correctly either so that may be the issue.
However, with each top weatherstrip installation, the tops need to be adjusted and shimmed to fit.
Bought them from ecklers and yes they are made incorrectly. W
they are made incorrectly waytoo thick . Went to Corvette unlimited in NY and will be getting the usa made , much thinner and better quality

Willcox - - My 73 AIM shows a tar like sealer between the metal retainer (to which the weatherstrip is glued) that goes on the outboard side of the T top and the T top itself. How do you install that sealer strip and still adjust that side of the weatherstripping on the car? Seems like you'd have to take it apart to put the sealer strip in and thus loose the adjustment. Must be a helpful hint here? Yes, I bought my weatherstrip kit from Willcox.
Check YouTube for the video by Melrose Corvette.
It helped me considerably.
Melrose makes some great products and this is good information but the installer is a little too rough on those glass tops. I replaced WX stripping and edging on my 78 laminated tops but sat them on a moving blanket rather than let them rattle around a hard surface. I used an impact driver (Craftsman link below) to loosen the screws and used it to tighten rather than a cordless drill.
