Muffler choice oem 79 L82
Hi,
found another rattle, the left muffler split around tailpipe.
can anyone recommend oem style muffler but similar sound but not quieter than stock?
fit without any modifications,
i came across the magnaflow EX-986..seems ok but wondered what others recommend.
stock exhaust with cat. Really no plans short term for true duals, maybe next step remove cat but muffler first. Thank you

The magnaflow will sound a little better than a stock muffler. Just remember the noise level will increase some when you remove the CAT. To me I like the sound of the OEM mufflers with the CAT delete.

Was there a difference in mufflers L82 and non in 79?
i found a bulletin about some cities wouldn’t allow L82 to be sold there
i found it..and im from grand rapids..funny..so is there an L82 muffler and base from oem?

I'm in a jurisdiction that does not inspect emissions or exhaust systems.
If it were mine, I'd eliminate the OE Y-pipe & cat exhaust system and replace with true duals; letting motor breathe.
