Default Hood gap help

So installed my super charger and the hood is touching, any way to offset this? If I went L88 where everything is laid out would it still hit? I already cut a section of the hood brace and polished the SC area as much as I could.

Right at the top of the SC, right above the blue tag. Was thinking maybe loosen rad support and lift whole front a bit?

Looks like you need to rotate the blower drive and adjust the outlet.

Not possible that would completely hit the hood, already tried that, that would be an obvious solution

From the forum, say he cut the hood support.

try a shim or 2 between air tank and rad support. you go too high, you can mess with door gaps and detach bonding strips at the firewall. no way to lower engine a bit?

You are so close to it fitting...can't rotate the blower, can't lower the blower, maybe cut hood support, shims will not end good if you add to much.......Maybe a combination of shims and cutting the hood support?

I already cut the hood support the photo doesn't show it, I'll try to shim it but don't think it will be enough. I am running new poly motor mounts so I could try a rubber on that side if I can find one.

You can always cut the hood and mold in a hump.

I would say an L88 hood would be no better for your problem area.

What about solid engine mounts they might help get the engine low enough and still drive properly (remember your uni joint angles will be effected by any changes in engine angle.

This is what i would do , if you can't get that engine low enough . Playing with shims to change things can lead to disaster .

I have never ran solid engine mounts - do they take that much off that it actually lowers the engine? (excuse my ignorance here)

I thought about the mold even doing something like the GTO hood tach hump but much lower, I don't know yet. Everything else was a hell of a lot more complex but "easy" to me and a very small hood gap is whats killing me...go figure.

A friend of mine put solid mounts in his and he reckons he got about 10mm drop.

Maybe something like this hood but with the scoops more forward.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-my-74-a.html

I like how this hood has the rise near the front of the hood. You could do something like that. 1977-1982 C3 Corvette Twin NACA Duct Hi Rise Turbo Hood ACI Fiberglass

I have one of those hoods here, if the O.P wants to do some measuring on his hood I can do same here.
May not be deadly accurate, but it may help .

Never liked the turbo hoods but function over fashion at this point. I'll take some measurements. Thanks.

Yeah.i agree , but mine has the 2 scoop things filled in ,so it doesn't look to bad. I chose this one because I got it with a pile of parts and the extra height will come in handy on top of the motor .

Well some will like it, I'm sure many will hate it, but its functional and it's what I'm rolling with for now. I'll come up with some kind of cap for when I wash the car / get caught in the rain. The Gap is because hood isn't fully closed in second pic.

It was gonna eff up the hood anyway. This way you don't need to deal with paint, at least for the time being.
