Stalling problems
I recently purchased a 1979 L48 Corvette from my grandfathers estate. Car has been in the family since my great uncle drove it off the lot and 3 years later sold it to my grandfather, (should mention it sat in a hangar for about 25 years undriven) and now it's mine! Anyways, it has always had a little problem that from a dead stop to the first acceleration that it would want to die. Once the car got nice and warmed up, no problem. I recently replaced a very old fuel filter and put new exhaust (muffler and chrome pipes only) on her and the problem seems to have gotten worse than before. It idles very low, just hovering below .5 and acts like it wants to stall out. Any advice? I have pretty much ZERO car experience but I am trying to learn. Thanks!
If only when cold it sounds like the choke isnt working or is not properly adjusted.
If it does both cold and warm the list gets longer.
How many miles since the car had a tuneup including checking cap, rotor, plug wires, spark plugs, air filter, PCV, etc.
You may want to consider buying a book on basic engine theory in order to start learning.
