Default map light bulb replacement issues

Thanks in advance: Having issues trying to replace the mp light bulb in my 1975. I searched for threads and have seen someone reference dental floss and other stuff to try and remove the bulb. I was able to get the lens off and fought the bulb for a while using a pick from my set. I now have what appears to be the glass bulb loose from the interior but it has the stainless/shiny "casing" still on it? I'm not sure if I broke something or not. The sticker on the unit says to compress the "rails" but I have no idea what that means as there do not appear to be any rails anywhere. The real issue is that I can't get the loose bulb out of the opening in the gray plastic slider switch as it seems like it's larger diameter. Any hints on shortcuts for removal? I'm almost tempted to try and pry the glass off the front and reattach it somehow.

Squeeze the sides of the plastic housing together and pull down. It will pop up to replace the bulb.

Thanks Greg. Do you mean to squeeze the sides of the gray slider switch after I remove the lens?

I found a pic in another post. Turns out there was a sticker on the map lights with the bulb changing instructions. Mine doesn’t have it either. You can just read it.
