I really like the L88 hood scoop...Quick question...
Would it fit, look good on my 1974? Is it functional? Is it best to go with a black color or try to match the paint?
Thanks
Thanks

If you have a body shop do the work to modify your existing hood with an L88 hood, it will cost you way more than just buying an L88 hood. I have one on my 75 Convertible and I think it looks great.

I got mine at Ecklers, there are other manufacturers/suppliers though. They need some work before you paint. How well it fits your car depends on the car. These cars vary from car to car quite a bit.

my L88 hood didnt come with an airbox. You can buy them seperate at Paragon.

I have a small block and I had to alter the rear of the air box to get it to line up with the carb, I had to shorten it. It works great and I love it. I was able to install it while the hood was still on the car. I used a panel bonding agent to bond them together and used a couple of clamps and a board to hold everything together. You just want to mark the center of the carb on the hood so you only have to do this once and get it rght the first time.
I first measured and cut a few inches off
measured again to get a better fit
after I bonded it together.
I lost the pics wth the clamps in place. I would paint it before hand to match the hood color to make it easier.
