I have Hooker Super Comps with Brodix -10 heads with raised exhaust ports and angled plugs. The only plug that was an issue was number 8. I had to put a dent in the tube for that cylinder. I carefully marked out where the interference was and then using a piece of round stock laid over the area on the tube, I hit it with a BFH until I had the clearance I needed.

Headers can vary from set to set some and your heads are different than mine, so I can't say for sure this would work for you.

Mike

These look like the “older” design Hooker comps. Depending on heads not all angle plugs are the same angle. I have a set of new Hookers like these but will have to check part number. Will sell but shipping of a box this big is a killler on price. Let me know if your interested.

I wonder why Hooker Headers? Although I use them myself there is probably another manufacturer out there building headers for your situation.

Craig

Try Stainless Works

How dig you solve the pipes from flange to crossmember? I have clearance issues with mine Flowtechs, specially on the right side, it is very close to the floor pan. (69, 350, 4sp).

Are they comp's or super comp's. If you're not too far from Nebraska I could be intrested.

I believe they are Comps not Super Comps. The diameter is smaller than Super Comps I think. I will check tomorrow and get the part number off of the box. I'm in Colorado, pretty close to Nebraska depending where in the state you are.
Thanks

I have the Hooker Super Comps on my '79. Over the years I have had Trick Flow and AFR heads, both with angle plugs and the headers fit fine. There are a couple of plugs that I have to be a little creative in removing and installing, and I do use Accel shorty plugs, but they do fit.

These are wonderful stainless steel headers...…… but the add is off on the actual size. They are 1 3/4 stepped up to 1 7/8 with 3 inch collectors. Really nice thick flange and you can't beat the price.

The real question is the heads. My Dart Pro1 angle plugs have NO header and spark plug interference issues, But then I bought AFR and it required denting a tube and spark plug changes are a PITA compared to the Dart heads.

I have run into this before, not all angle plug heads are the same angle. With a given set of headers, some work and some don't. Accel does make a shorter plug which will help in many cases and sometimes a small "dent" is required also.
