vac elimination ?
Can I eliminate the vac solenoid on the back of the tach on my 1971 350 4sp? One of the electrical terminals broke off. I'm not using the tcs.

Hi,
I'm pretty sure that solenoid is for the wiper door control not TCS so you cannot eliminate it unless you have removed the wiper door assembly already.

Correct! The vac solenoid/switch on back of tach is the item that initiates the wiper door opening/closing.

You can actually eliminate the wiper door solenoid and still operate the wipers. Simply leave the solenoid in place, and connect the two vacuum hoses together. When you need the wipers, just use the override to open and close the wiper door. The wiper switch still controls the wiper operation. It would be very similar to a light mist condition, leaving the wiper door open, and clicking the wiper switch back & forth.
