I'll be trailering a soft top 61, but the top needs replacing (it just never went out in the rain) - somewhere between florida and texas i'm sure we will encounter some rain - it's getting a new top as soon as it gets to texas - so what do you recommend? duck tape over where the rain comes in - put a cover over the car??
(Just bought the vette, and I'll probably have a lot of dumb newbie questions)
Thanks!!
Cynthia
ps - found a couple places online to get a new top, any recommendations - i've seen different types/materials - any good places to order one?
Thanks Tom - Your in Round Rock - I'm in Marble Falls - Are you a member of the Longhorn Corvette Club? I looked into joining.
We'll be picking the car up in Florida this weekend and the seller also has a nice car trailer. We already have one, but it would be nice to not haul an empty trailer to Florida if I new someone that would buy the one that we're hauling back. Do you know of anyone, that might be interested? (i can get pictures also) Thanks Again!

$1295. for trailer, includes self storing ramps, tie downs, electric brakes, lights all work, aluminum tool box mounted on front, new wheel to move around trailer when not on vehicle
As far as the weather, if you leave Thurs or Friday and make it by Saturday you should miss any rain. We just recieved 4-6 inches in the past 24 hours, but its over with, should be past Florida by Thursday.

Depends where it is leaking from. If it leaks around the weatherstripping like mine I would not use duct tape at all. If it is on the top itself and your replacing it go ahead and use duct tape. If it is on the weatherstripping and the duct tape gets on the paint it will leave some adhesive and other ugly spots on the paint. When I did mine a couple months ago from Nashville, TN to Richmond VA I used masking tape around the weather stripping and then put towels around the back where it leaks. Just my two cents.
