The MSD is nice but you need the adjustable rotor to get it to clock correctly with the shielding. The tach drive isnt located in the same place as the GM distributor plus you'll need the 6AL contoller and HEI wires
If you want to stay with the small cap instead of the big cap HEI style, put a WTB add on our for sale section looking for a rebuilt GM tach drive.
My personnel opinion: Get a factory T.I. distributor. Email Lars here on the forum for his papers on distributors and timing. The T.I. distributor will trigger a cheap GM 4 pin h.e.i. module.
I'm running the MSD with 6AL. The MSD Billet can be wired to work with the GM HEI Module. If you want to go that route let me know (it's a way to see if you MSD box is having issues), you'll need to make some connectors. I've run the GM points, GM TI, MSD and Mallory Unilite (all tach drive), you just need to do creative wiring.
