Default need help installing trans

ok first this is what i got, cant afford any other at this point lol . so i have a 72 vet with muncie 4 speed i wamt the tko but i have a 86 4+3 transmission. looks like it will replace the muncie in size . but the trans mount looks like i mite have to fabricate . any ideas on a transmission mount

Keep the 4-speed! Save your money for a real TKO 600, Richmond 5-speed, T56 6-speed, or the equivalent. There's a reason they stopped making C4s.

If your car was stock with a 4-speed, you'll likely want to consider swapping to a removable crossmember. There are kits, and folks on this forum have done it. If you have an automatic, G Force Crossmembers (and others) make bolt-in replacements for different transmissions. They may be able to help you with one that works for the 4+3.

well got the m20 muncie engine is going back in this week . i have both trannys and as long as i treat the overdrive good ,should last tell i can get a tko but would like to drive it so has any one ever put a 4+3 in a 72 vet im thinking i can use the same crossmember it is for a manual trans and welded in lol

Since you have both trannys - take a picture of them side by side. I fabricated the mount for my Richmond. Perhaps we can give some ideas when we see the trannys side by side.

The 4+3 is the LAST choice for an overdrive trans in a C3. Just look how far apart the C4 seats are. And how big the tunnel is. That is how big a 4+3 is.
