Default best non leaking performance valve stem seals?

I have been fighting oil consumption for a while...

I had oil being sucked up through the valley... fixed

Had oil being sucked through the rocker arm studs... fixed

Last problem.... shitty/bad, valve stem seals

Heads are AFR 220 competition ported on a 427 Dart block..

So... In your opinions... who makes the best valve stem seals?????

I just did my AFR 210 valve guides, seals, and springs. They had the AFR factory seals. I went with the comp cams seals and springs

Just get the right diameter, but this is the same product

It is the guides. Seals will be a bandaid. When you pull the springs wiggle the valves.

Thx George... did not know Comp had valve stem seals.... I was wanting to change the springs anyway to the conical springs the have... I ran the beehives on the 383 i last had, and they were simply put... amazing

heads and engine only have about 5,000 miles on it... guides themselves should be good

I just got off the phone with AFR talking to them about this problem and their reply is that the oil pump is the problem
I run a high volume oil pump, not a high-pressure oil pump.
and he says with the high volume oil pump’s, they are putting too much oil in to the head and therefore it’s getting on top of the seals and then going down

I have high volume pumps on both of my solid roller motors.
After market blocks and stock blocks with oil restrictors limit top end oiling and they work fine with every head I have ever used except for AFR. AFR never addressed their know oil return problems. I machined my AFR heads on the exhaust side of the springs into the valve cover wall and deeper than the valve spring pocket to channel oil away from the spring base and valve stem seals

I machined out the oil return holes larger and removed the drain ridge that impedes oil return

I got in trouble 15 years ago about bad mouthing AFR and their design flaws. I only wished that they would have fixed these items by now

I'm NO AFR expert ... but I recall AFR went from 11/32" stems to 8mm stems on many heads; big diff between .314 & .343

To facilitate a more-comprehensive search, It'll pay to KNOW guide OD, stem OD and seal height.

these aftermarket heads have way shorter guide life than OEM heads.
